WTF, Dragonball Film?

Why the Hell hasn't anyone said anything about this yet?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dragonball_%28film%29

The actor who will play Goku
The actor who will play Piccolo

WTF? Seriously, WTF?

Apparantly Ron Perlman turned down a part as Piccolo to be in Hellboy 2. Those dumb fucks should have waited for Perlman... he's Piccolo personified. -.-

BinaryLife 05-07-2008 02:08 PM

Yeah, but Hellboy2 will be a much better movie. Sadly, I have low hopes for the Dragonball movie. It's been "In production" for several years now and this is as far as it has gotten. I fear it may go in the direction of Dead or Alive.

Dr.Satan 05-07-2008 02:41 PM

nice...shame it's been in production so long, but I hope it comes out!

Anyways, I loved the DragonBall Z series when I was younger. I don't think it's really appropriate for a film though lol.

At least they have a super sexy Bulma!

Etzell 05-07-2008 05:08 PM

Emmy Rossum!

Gwarsbane 05-07-2008 05:22 PM

I've known about this film for a while... I also don't have high hopes for it.

SoBe Green 05-07-2008 05:30 PM

Yea its been "in pre production" for what seems like forever. I'll watch it though just because I know I'll at least be able to laugh at it if anything.

Paft 05-07-2008 05:31 PM

double you tee eff! DBZ and stuff of this namture is massive shitness.

Anshinritsumai 05-07-2008 05:52 PM

I thought we had a discussion about this awhile back? ...could've been another forum...

Anyway, Chow-Yun Fat is in the movie as well, as Master Roshi.

And one reason why I have hopes for this movie is the fact that Stephen Chow (of Shaolin Soccer & Kung Fu Hustle fame) is one of the producers...

leilei 05-07-2008 05:53 PM

i'm grateful that this annoying overrated series will die a horrible Hollywood death though

puppychow 05-07-2008 06:10 PM

anime lolololololol

reaper18 05-07-2008 09:26 PM

rofl. This whole thing is great.

Marsters is already on for all three episodes of it, too.

I'll probably watch these in theaters. If you know me you know how ridiculous that is.

SoBe Green 05-08-2008 01:37 AM

What would be crazy is if the movies turn out pretty good.

zSilver_Fox 05-08-2008 01:58 AM

The TV adaptation and translation destroyed a lot of it (very few native English speakers understand the puns). The movie will destroy more.

They had BETTER have Vegeta in there with his scouter, though.

Ihmhi 05-08-2008 01:58 AM

For some reason, my Nyquil-addled brain read "Stephen Chow" as "John Woo". I don't even know how the Hell I got them confused. I guess maybe it's because "Famous Asian Filmmakers Who Don't Suck" couldn't fill up A-D in Who Wants to be a Millionaire.

Chow though, my man... my expectations for this movie are much loftier now.

They are aloft.

Quote one of my buddies, who's a big anime and manga fan.

Quote:

[The new DBZ film will be] made of concentrated fail so huge and epic that it may even infect other forms of media distribution... it'll cause music to sound worse, and TV to seem more dumb

Hawk Eye 05-08-2008 02:13 AM

I've some nice memories of waking up early in the mornings, going into my grandma's room with her and watching Dragonball [and Sailor Moon >>;]. I really hope this turns out well.

Etzell 05-08-2008 02:25 AM

Everyone who's ever seen the awful, awful show knows that the movie will consist of 1 fight scene. And then 3 direct-to-DVD sequels that actually finish the fight scene.

zSilver_Fox 05-08-2008 03:44 AM

And 3/4ths of that fight scene will be two characters covered in fire, grunting and twitching at each other.
