I'm going to make a concmap for Fortress Forever. I am using jumps from tfc for reference as I can't test it =/ this is the first jump.

So far concs are identical with a slight lessening in effective boost. I can't drop a conc and jump out of the elevator in our reskinned version of 2fort but almost. Its not intentional either so most concmaps would probably be able to be ported or remade quite easily.

It'll probably be tweaked a little bit. Everyone I've talked to agrees you should be able to conc out of 2fort basement. But I always dropped a conc under the elevator for a little extra lift and we can't do that in the dev_2fort version.

Koochy may redo speed, or some other mapper will. As long as we don't get another concmap_r issue going on with someone remaking the map and calling it their own.
Looks pretty basic, sort of like an introductory concing thing. |
I'm sure someone will steal other peoples maps, but at least having a centralized mapping community like this will help keep that in check.

i think the devs were workin on a concmap_r version already silver, i think it was in one of the trepids leaks maybe?

Not if more good concmaps are available. Not everyone can do the more complex ones, so speed is one of the most popular.

A newbie's unwillingness to learn the newer, or harder maps is what forces skills maps to run (only through votes, however) speed, speed2 and 2v2.
But with that said, more of the newer maps have multiple routes ie. easy and hard, and easy, medium and hard etc., allowing more newbies to learn the harder jumps and techniques when they are ready. Also, people are afraid to ask questions these days...and I can only image why... |
