Multi Rail Bounce Kill Icons
 
I think there should be 3 kill icons for rail gun.

no bounce (current), single bounce, double bounce, and explosion area of effect from a fully charged shot.

Perhaps just put little numbers and a tiny explosion in the lower right hand corner of the icon?

Is this feasible? Does the kill icon system detect the number of bounces?

They did the airshot thing in tfc with a mod. It would also give a distance score. Dunno if possible in source.

What would the airshot requirements be? Direct hit only? Target needs to be a certain number of units above the ground?

Also 1 in 100 charged shots should bounce around forever until it kills someone or 2 mins are up which ever is first, if it does not kill then the engy dies :P the idea of a loose cannon sounds fun :)

Direct hit and needs to be at least 3 bodylengths above the ground I'd say.

Is the length meter possible? Or would making a thousand different kill icons make that prohibitive?

The length could be written using regular text; wouldn't need a separate icon for each length.

i support airshot icons and rail bounce icons.

I also support these for the RPG and blue pipes.

Yes targets should be a certain distance off the ground. not sure what distance. they also should only be direct hits.

a text based notice in the chat area with distance would be cool "(name) airshot (name) at a distance of ___ (weapon)" but it should only come up for kills.

Maybe have it also count the amount of midairs you've scored so far that round? That was something that was really sweet about T2, if you were good you'd just see the number climb up and you'd have people with 10-15 midair discs by the end of a round. The tally doesn't need to be put on the scoreboard but a pop up like "Mid-air Rocket [4]! Distance is X units" would be great

The airshot icon seems somewhat lackluster but gets the job done. Or not, maybe it's cool, probly grow on me. The bounce icon is awesome, but I wonder how readily visible it'll be. Kinda how the different pipe icons are kinda hard to see. Cool though I like it.

Yeah, I'm not sure about the airshot icon (might also be unclear in-game).

The railgun icons work well in-game, though:

Yeah dems cool.

Maybe for the airshot icon if you did something like the crater icon but upside down, so there's the little "whoosh whoosh" lines indicating the player was flying up.

Crater icon fliped, and on the other side of the whoosh lines, add an explosion like you have in your example.
