Steam commands and tips to make things run smoother (request)

I was wondering if anyone could share some tips and whatnot, in order to make things run smoother when your ping isn't great.

Due to the decline in European players over the years, european servers have ended up shutting down / stopped becoming populated, such as zE's servers. So currently the main server I play is Old Timers, which is generally populated with regulars every night.

My ping is often around 160, but recently it has been hovering around 200 for some reason... (I reckon the UK is trying to give Australia a hug) so I sometimes start to feel my ping.

Usually it is not a problem, I play scout a lot and I can conc, trimp, move etc.. very well and in good timing, but sometimes I miss that key conc, and it can annoy me at times. For example on DropDown, concing up from the bottom to get the flag, takes good timing of a conc, and at times I can hit it 10+ times in a row and get the flag, other times I go through about 5 failed concs before I do it right.

Basically, any help people could give would be appreciated, I have more or less stopped choke completely so it is always at 0. But I can still feel it sometimes.

Even a recommeneded setup, such as refresh rates and such that work well.

Cheers for any help.

I know there's a command to show where the player actually is, though it makes things choppy. I forget what it is though... I'll have to ask trailer.

Might help... other than that, just PC scans, and the such (malwarebytes, CCleaner, antivirus) to ensure you have no spyware, or anything that could slow you down.

That command is cl_interpolate I think.. I tried it, but the choppyness to me wasn't really worth it, and with certain classes it actually makes it harder to aim. And OT have banned it from their server, so if I wanted to use it I'd have to enable it for Talos + Trailers and other servers then disable it for OT. Too much trouble.

Thanks for the reply though, do you know of any certain rates that are best to use together, like refresh rates etc..., I believe I have gotten my Choke to 0 at all times using one command, but I sometimes get big lag spikes that only I am feeling and sometimes things just aren't running smoothly, missing concs and grenades failing to throw.. so they end up killing me :/

Being from the UK and all of the FF servers being in the US, I always have a ping of 120 - 200. And currently, I've been playing Scout the most so response is vital for playing.
