It went away for a long time. I just got L4D, installed it... first time I tried to run it, crashed about 2 seconds into the game. Does it every time, now I cant play FF with out the same problem...
Also, I'm on fresh drivers. I just re-installed windows, first video drivers to be on this install are the latest ones from nvidia.
I also just got 2 more gigs of ram. So, im up to 4. However, im still on windows xp, and my 512 vid card takes away from that total. I'm thinking maybe the hardware is telling my ram to be in dual channel on the 2 new sticks, but it cant due to software limitations. However, I cannot find where to turn off the dual channel on channel B to test this. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1.../l4dcorrup.jpg |
stop dlin pron.
erm that happens to me or somthing like that all i do is window out window back in and its fixed
Same i had that happen to me in L4D well i played the free demo, not as bad as that but close. Never did effect my FF though.
Well, I took out one of the ram sticks and it appears to have solved the problem.
Looks like i need to goto vista if i want to use all my ram. |
Try swapping that one you took out with another in your machine. There's a small chance that it may be a bad stick of ram. I have 4 gig's and Xp only reads something like 3.75 which is acceptable cause I didn't want to go to vista.
Well the problem has returned.
I think I need a new video card.... I think this one is just shot... I cant even play any games at all anymore on my computer. hell, sometimes my screen will go black for a second and a windows will pop up that says "the nvidia driver has stopped working" when I'm just browsing da interwebs. |
