Baby name

Ok, so my girl and I are having a baby, it's due in Feb. and we're looking at names right now.

We won't know the sex until 18 - 22 weeks, and she's only at 12, but we've been thinking of names for a while and can't seem to find a good girl's name. For a boy we're going with Kieran Alexander. We know that we want it to come from out roots, so it needs to be either Irish or English or something from those areas. Problem is that here in the states, you don't much hear those kinds of names. So I was hoping some of you EU guys could tell me what are some different, interesting, and cute names for a girl that aren't common.

Nieve
Aeysha
Catherine

Yeah, congrats!

I don't think I'd want kid(s) though, I'm sure we all say that until we meet that someone. But if I did I'd like a girl.

Just throwing out random ones:

Elvia
Arlena
Alina
Islene

If she drops that baby on my birthday, you are required by duty to name it after me.

lol she might...she's due the 4th so it's not all that far off

uBeR 07-25-2009 04:04 PM

Kieran? Do you want your son to be tormented through his entire childhood?

Dr.Satan 07-25-2009 04:12 PM

lol I want his name to be something that isn't heard all the time. And I like the name Kieran.

I've found that making fun of your kids name yourself steels them for everything they will most likely encounter in high school. I've called my son everything from slight mispronunciations of his name to "hey you little fucker." He takes it in stride.

Aeysha is a nice name and not overly unique. Kylie is another good one.

My fiance and I are having our first either the last week of Oct. or the first week of Nov. and we are going with the name Olivia

lmao...for some reason I highly doubt that is even European, much less English or Irish. That's really a big thing for us tho, my mom is an English citizen and Niki and I both have Irish in us, so we want something from those dialects.

Congratulations! I don't know what the roots are, but maybe these will give some inspiration for an English or Irish form.

Lunette

Anabella

Or since you've got a K for a boy, how'bout a K for a girl, and this one is surely Irish. The internet says so. Kyara.

Looks like something you'd get playing Scrabble.
