I've come up with the idea to let all the free-agent players sign up for a draft. The concept is after all the people who want to be in this draft have signed up they are placed on teams and organized by the UGC Admin Team. Players that are currently on teams but want to be part of the draft are welcome to sign up for the draft and be transferred to their new team. Let me know what you guys think about the idea. I am open to ideas and suggestions. If you are currently a team leader and are opposed to this idea and would not like to play against a draft team this is your time to discuss.

More information coming soon on when the draft will start if applicable and how to sign-up!

It sounds like a good idea it would let more people play who want to and admins would make the teams so it could be decided what'd be best for the league

also having a place where Free agents could join ugc and show up as free agents so other teams can see whats available as potentially ringer or to fill a roster spot. as well as the free agents themselves being able to see all the other free agents and maybe making a team.

def a good idea, but I will just wait to see who plays before I make any decisions. I still feel we should have done a pair of 2 good players on a team and then draft from a pool from there. there was this unofficial "thing" we all were speaking about and planned on doing until teams formed that had better then 2 powerhouses. soooo yea..

I really like your idea WifiDi, i'm going to try to get something started really soon so everyone can sign up if they would like and it will be public for everyone to view. might take a couple days to get something like that set up but we will see. I will keep everyone updated and we will give it a shot.

Vinny, the captains idea isn't a bad idea but i think it takes too much dedication and we don't have enough dedicated players to be captains for each team. Great idea maybe for a competitive season with playoffs(maybe in the fall season?)

If anyone else has any more ideas to add to the draft please let me know. If anyone else has any more questions i know i didn't word the orig. thread very well(i'm not very good with grammar), so feel free to ask if something isn't understood.

i'm ok with some teams being created by this method but I'm not ok with being forced into being drafted by a team in the future. i wouldn't trust random players to show up and actually fill a roster come match night. i also don't understand the "were going to lose so why join" concept. every league ever has had top teams and bottom teams. i really don't believe in a draft with the intent of making teams fair or in fairness at all in a true competetive atmosphere. Whats the point of a league if the team system is identical to a pickup? Lets not create an FF T-Ball League. Thanks

SPOILER ALERT!!:

i'm glad that you brought up the point in having a competitive league alextric. In the fall season for UGC there will be playoffs and there will be more competition, but only way that is going to happen is if we get people on teams and get them in the groove of playing FF in match style play. Right now all the players in the community know are pickups because the leagues have been short and unsuccessful. If we keep it at a friendly non-competitive level this season and we get some more teams formed i think it will better our chances in having a successful fall league, which then we can vote on whether or not to do a draft for the competitive league. this summer league is more an introductory league for alot of teams. With no playoffs i would consider all matches to be played for practice playing with your team or just for fun =] sorry for the SPOILER but FF can be fun without being competitive!! :P

eh tbh i don't quite know what i was getting at looking back on it. (it was somthing but can't remember what it was. so removed.
