Hi guys. Long time no see.

Not sure if you guys heard the latest, but I figured you guys would appreciate the latest. Basically, one of the guys on the dev team let a Atomic PC team play the game without permission.

He then let Atomic PC take about 200 screenshots of the game as they played and then they put the pictures up on the net. AFTER the article and pics were posted, then the dev guy realized he should probably tell the team about it. So he posted a thread in our private section saying these people reviewed the game and posted pics.

On the back end, there were a flury of dripping angry posts all the way from the top dev lead to even the voice actors. In the end, Atomic PC took the pics down but it was already too late. There are now a cache of pics on the net to find:

This appears to be one of those leaks that shows a ton of quality work and will end up creating a lot of hype and more interest, being a good thing in the long run :)

I'm even more hyped than I was before.

I don't understand how this "leak" could possibly be a bad thing in any circumstance.

The game is a port... screenshots only serve the hype machine, do they not? That dev did you a favor as far as I'm concerned.

I completely agree. While controlled leaks are always desired by the dev teams, something like this was bound to happen sooner or later. It's not like a Beta of the game got out.... that could have been trouble. But screenshots, maybe some video, always helps generate hype.

As awesome as that looks, our beloved Source engine is starting to show its age these days. :(

The screenshots were taken on medium settings so it looks like shit. Blame the atomic guy. :(

Well that's good then, because it still gives people a chance to play it on high settings and be blown away. That is, if it's ever released. But, Duke Nukem is being released so who knows.

So, when the hell is this going to be released?

It will probably be released soon, like Fortress Forever, where they released the game before it was actually polished and most of the fan-base disappeared because they were disappointed.

No but seriously... When is this going to be released? They were initially targeting 2009 for a release date so it must have been at least close to a finished product at that time. Here it is 9 months later and no update...

I read a post somewhere on the BMS forums by Raminator that suggested it will be released by the end of this year.

Dont take my word for it though

We can't, really... they said that last year. :shock:

I just wish BMS would stop giving long-term release dates, stick with "When it's done" and work on it. Better to do that than leave a bunch of people pissed off when you don't make your "End of the year" date you set in February.
