against my CRT screen. I have the mx518 model. Put your ear up against it, does yours have a faint buzz? Just curious... so I know it's not slightly damaged.

I've always noticed it. Any CRT screen makes that noise, it drives me crazy. It's also a handy way of seeing if a tv is on or not, while on a black screen, that and the black isn't quite black.

Heh, I usually can tell if the TV is on too, the buzz is actually quite annoying when you can't pinpoint it at first, I can usually hear it most when the picture on the TV is mostly white, sounds like its going to asplode

My mx518 makes a buzzing noise too, good job I can only hear it when I put my ear on it :lol:

The buzzing noise that Paft was referring to was the noise from his MX518 mouse, the mouse that I also have and can hear a faint buzzing sound from.

Ooohhhhhhhh...ok then. I don't have that mouse so I wouldn't know. Is the buzz it makes a 20kHz buzz like the monitors or is it a different frequency? Because if it's up near 20kHz I might have to never buy it.

:] It sounds a little like this (yob alarm/ turned ring tone) but weaker and lower pitched. I'm sure you all know about it but supposedly It cannot be heard by most people over the age of 20.
