What addon to admin the server?

Is there anyway to admin the FF servers? Can I install mani or something like that? Or is it limited to rcon cmd's for now?

Ihmhi 09-15-2007 04:44 AM

rcon for now.

I run Mani, MM:S, SteamBans' Detox and Matties EventScripts, with no problems other than a few Mani features that seem broke or useless.

HLSW works, for remote admininstration, too.

I would suggest http://www.sourcemod.net/ .

Mani's website says he's quit developent and updates, so as it breaks, it don't get fixed. http://www.mani-admin-plugin.com/

Beetle says he added support for ff. http://www.beetlesmod.com/forums/index.php

Also, there is http://forums.alliedmods.net/showthread.php?t=39356 , Basic Admin Plugin (BAT), which I have read will work.

I am running sourcemod right now and it works great. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

True, about Mani, but I still need/want it's features, until the MM:MAP plugin gets going. If another plugin did everything Mani did, I could change it, perhaps others do. ;)

t1mk1ll 09-15-2007 05:14 AM

BAT

If I am not mistaken, sourcemod has plugins for every feature mani has/had, but please correct me if I'm wrong.

Would help If you read on mani's site that development is turned over to steamfriends.com

I'm well aware of the conversion, and certainly didn't mean to offend. I used mani's til it started breaking and no updates. I also was trying to list mods available now, not in the future.

I originally used beetle's, when I was with nfo and had a windows server. I moved to clanservers, which has linux, and unfortunately, beetles had very poor linux support, at least at that time. I moved to mani's, as it had excellent linux support. I used mani's for a long time, but again, as it started breaking, and it was apparent that mani just didn't have the time to keep it updated, I decided to move to sourcemod. I was a HUGE fan of amxmodx and felt this was finally the replacement for me. I like having total control of features just by loading or chosing not to load certain plugins. Also, I there are generally more new features available for mods like this that for giant swiss army knife plugins. Again, I was just trying to be helpful and I apologize for not mentioning the future SM manis mod.

It might, I never looked before because mani used to be updated. ;)

We setup BAT on our FF server and it seems to work fine other then a minor bug when someone is switched to spectator.

I hear some people have got Mani to work good using the latest MMS version. Seeing how it isn't supported I'm going to wait until the similar version is released for MMS.

t1mk1ll 09-15-2007 10:00 AM

mani works btw

i had to use the metamod version like the post above, but i haven't found any bugs yet. also it appears that HLSTATX will be offering support for FF. I sent in a ticket today and they told me full support within a couple weeks.

NewKleer 09-15-2007 01:20 PM

is there any simple mods that just allow public map voting?

I didn't have to use the MM version, I used the stand alone, 1.1.0zi version. I also use MM:S but not for mani. ;)

www.beetlesmod.com

standalone...doesnt require sourcemm

Naquadria 09-16-2007 12:07 AM

SourceOP should be out sunday/monday sometime. It's by the same guy who made AdminOP for TFC.

Lt Llama 09-16-2007 12:47 AM

As an old amxmodx user there is nothing else than source_mod for me. I know what they did with amxmodx, and better dev team is hard to find. Once source_mod supports FF fully I think we will see special plugins just for FF. For now there are a bunch of generic plugins to admin your server.

Current plugins for source_mod:

http://www.sourcemod.net/plugins.php...tion=&search=1

Map specific plugins:

Nextmap and currentmap plugin by kill0r

Mapchooser (AMXX port) by ferret

As far as I know there is no rockthevote yet, but that will probably come.

FYI: Sourcemod Developer Pimpinjuice is porting most core mani features over to SM.

I sure hope they fix the old mani mute/gimp to be smart enough to stop name changes and mute both text and voice and add a database so players can't just type retry to evade the mute/gimp.

Sourcemod is coming with an SQL feature, so I would expect that for that feature, SQL would be used.
