Hello Black Mesa fans!

We come to you once again with an update. It's now the end of 2009, and we know many of you have literally counted the days down until this fateful month. We are floored by the level of support you have given us and are very excited we're so close to reaching our goal.

Unfortunately, to our great disappointment, Black Mesa will not make a 2009 release.

Cynics may now rejoice, bets may be collected, and I think a mod team member has to eat his shoe, but we hope our loyal fans will forgive us and realize that the delay will translate into a better final product that's (hopefully) more easily available to everyone.

Once again we apologize for what has to be very disappointing news. We placed a 2009 deadline on ourselves to motivate us and bring this 6 year project to a close. And while we didn't quite make it, we have come very close, and you can expect a complete, polished game to hit your hard drives in the near future. We'll be sure and update if anything changes. Until then, hang tight, it's coming!

This is horrible! I was so looking forward to this mod coming out for winter break so that I could play it all break.

I always forget about Black Mesa. Then once a year they come out and say "OH! We're still working on it and almost done!"

We know you're never going to finish it. So just give us news when it's "done".

I can always handle waiting in exchange for a better product. So long as the quality matches the time with all reason being maintained. For a mod, it is understandable that the ration be skewed as it is done in the part time of its dev team. But good luck and I will be enjoying the game soon.

I think at some point in their 6 year development cycle they should've realized that an episodic format may have been a better way to do this. But... that's just me. Shrug. Speaking of which, I want Episode 3. D:

So, Black Mesa has now taken longer to develop than both Half-Life games, as well as Episodes One and Two.

They dont have a new release timeframe so I cant really offer a new date.

And of course it is going to take longer than the originals you goof, these guys have given up 6 years of their personal time (that is time that they are NOT working or being with their family) to dedicate to this. And you wanna compare the timeframe to folks that do it 40 hours a week full time for their real job! goofball. I would flick you if I could. =p
