Rock Wall like Aarkvard

Hi to everyone! I would ask a little help to build a simple CTF Map: ok the 2 bases are builded but i need to enclose the map with a surrounding rock wall like Aarkvard, and here is the question for you: what is the best way to create a quite realistic rock wall? I need to use the vertex tool?
