TFC forever
 

Found this while viewing some spy video from FF, search didn't find anything (useful) so... I gave it a shot. Even then I'd reckon not everybody has seen this due many new people joining the forum lately.

Especially love the spammy dustbowl part, I miss that... a bit.

Also, the way the spy is playing is something I'd like to to see back in FF. In fact, I'd like the entire player physics back, but I guess that ain't happening.

This was released how many years ago?

and even back then it was dying, damn i remember people talking about it dieing back when STA's 9v9 ladders were packed, and had 6 separate rungs, titanium platnum gold, silver bronze copper.

I've played on so many CS servers that are like that.

People have always complained about games dieing. It's common. People said WoW was dieing the week it was released. People said EQ was dieing when it's coming on with it's 14th expansion (I believe).

For some reason, though, it's usually the people that have a major case of the L2P's and people who don't like the game that say this.

Actually, TFC is dead, if you haven't noticed.

I think what is meant is, TFC is but a mere husk of what it once was. But it is far from dead.

TFC isn't dead (yet), but I agree that is has been past it's best years. With the new Fortress games, it will probably progress faster, eventually leading to it's death.

Well, by that argument, you could say pong, Donkey Kong, etc. aren't dead. Lets be real though.

Depends on how you define dead, if only a really small fraction of the original player base are playing, then I'd consider it dead. TFC still has a fair amount of people playing, so it's not dead yet. Doesn't mean it isn't dying, it can very well be dead next month.

TFC is dead. Some people still play Quake TF but that doesn't mean its still kicking.

I play CS and played both back when TFC wasn't a bot ridden wasteland.

I miss those TFC physics and the TFC sentry gun.

It's a pity that a good bot mod was never released for TFC. It's one of the things I like about UT...at least it has bots that play a bit...it at least feels a little like playing online back in the day.

I'd say Nintendo has effectively killed Donkey Kong(the original).... Pac-Man, on the other hand...has new life. As does the Ms, and Super Pacs.

That killed DK :(. Diddy Kong Racing wasn't that bad. I don't think I ever passed that level... with the hot air balloons in the clouds I think.

But ahem. In terms of NEW players, TFC is dead. Done for. Gone. Very few places are getting new players outside of a few that cater to the less experienced audience, such as the o-t server (not trying to flame them, just saying). It's slowly dying. Yes, there are still the elitists and clanners still playing, and pub regs. But even now, pubs are dying out fast. The dVa Disaster Zone was my favorite, and that disappeared (I miss zQuark... I MISS YOU! <3). Finding a new one is hard. Especially when zQ isn't there :(.

TwistedNetwork Dustbowl is usually packed with players. The last of the Mohican's. Love that server. After playing FF and TF2..mostly FF, I went
back to TFC and found a smile on face with the old familiar game physics
and graphics. It's like an old friend to come back to.

Somebody mentioned Donkey Kong...I'm pulling my super joystick out right
now and playing Donkey Kong on MAME....ohhhh the joy.
