Who here is not an (ex) TFC player ?
 

I'm just wondering about this cause I've got the impression that only (old) TFC-ers are waiting for this game.

I do hope though there will be a larger fanbase, or at least as much as ppl as TFC had in it's prime..

Well TFC has slightly more community. Going a little off discussion, I imagine the team a sick to the teeth of people comparing the resemblance to TFC and FF. They are to taking the goodness from the TF games yet creating a modern approach in there own unique style.

I think people say it looks more like TFC than Quake is because Quake has that strange/different look about it, gloomy alien enviroment, inhuman built like baby rhino characters and oddly shaped bulky weapons.

I never really played TFC a lot, but I did a bit.

Was in a clan for like a week. I don't even remember the name thats how good I was.

I haven't played 72 hours worth of TFC evar. I try getting on every now and then but I get owned and give up because I constantly forget that these people have been playing for at least 5 years. I can't figure out how to even conc jump from one battlement to the next on 2fort.

Only the l33ts who spend 43.7% of their lives spamming in skills servers can do things like that :P

Now you make me feel bad like my life has been useless :(

I played TFC for about 5 minutes about 6 years ago. So essentially, I am not an ex-TFC player.

But, I am an ex-q3f player and I'm anxiously awaiting FF!!!!!!!

I've only played ETF fortress-wise. And about 2 games of QWTF.

Ah I'm glad there's at least some non-tfc-ers waiting for FF too :-)

I come from the QWTF days. TFC was too slow for my tastes.

I remember playing TFC on 56k , ahhh , my pants exploded in awesomeness.

Lith, I once got ISDN when everybody was still on 56K, omg I started playing worse than everybody else because I wasn't used to having like 80 ping... 80 ping looks crap these days, but like 6 years ago it was the dogs swingers.

I'm a TFC-er. Though I'm kinda newb. I've been playing off and on for 2-3 years. I don't even know how to conc from water to battlments on 2 fort. When ever I try I just make it to the bottom level. (any one got advice?)

*edit* OOOOO! I just got an idear. Maybe some 1337 player could make a "TFC for dummies" thread or something? :D

Drop the conc to the bottom of the water, travel to the top of the surface and away from the conc (not to far otherwise it will not affect you), when surfaced, hold space and wait for the conc to explode. You will soon master that and end up making it look more stylish :P

Pretty much and fast-paced fps game for me, and one with a lot of character control eg. bhop, air strafing etc which basically reduces the selection to Quake-based games, Half Life and Painkiller; any other games with a similar playstyle?

I never played TFC until recently. (Like past 2 days recently) I've found it to be quite enjoyable. Though my only profecient class is the HW Guy. Conc jumping and nade jumping aren't that difficult to do (Unless you're doing the crazy shit like battlement to battlement..) but god damn are they fun.

getting close to going on 7 yrs for me. Still play it these days. I've cut down a lil bit recently though.

Thats because you havent played it on skilled servers :)
tfc is imo the game with most speed.That is what makes it so good.
Especially when your playing scout,speed and movement is everything

i am also glad that there will be some new tf players.
Although they will get harsh times against all those tfc'ers that have been waiting for the game since the day tfc was dying.

Heh, I've been playing TFC since 1999 when I was 5 or 6. I still play TFC like once every two days currently. I'm hating to see maps die on TFC such as Cz2 and Epicenter... TFC is dying pretty fast, and hopefully FF would bring them all back.

I've played QWTF few months and about 2years TFC.

Started back in `99, played all levels of tfc, mostly top, nowdays I play in Gathers and admin for the Gather channel, the occasional 4v4. I would say I'm still close to my top game, although a bit washed up :(

Same here. Last time I played TFC was when Circ had a server up, man did I suck. I'm way out of practice

forgive me for sounding rude, but isnt the original question a rather stupid question? Who else but an ex tfc'er would be waiting eagerly for ff if they have never touched tfc? It isnt like a lara croft fan wakes up one day and says, "hm... what is this ff all about?"

i started in 1999 i think... around patch 1.0.1.6 when you could still bhop without a cap. i used to mulch every night (was in college) in 3rd person view with a guy that went by internal Chi. played in a few clans but never at "top level" - there is too much attitude at that level which is why i quit clanning eventually. now i just pub maybe once a day depending on what i have going on. sadly, there is a lot of attitude in your average 2fort pub as well... you cant' escape it! :(

Warsow is based on a modified Quake 2 engine, right? : )

So yeah, I already play Warsow; I only play it for the movement though, the dming is shit :P
