Eureka Seven was a fairly mediocre show, but the soudtrack is awesome!

So, I've been listening to Black Mages III, and I can not get this song out of my head. It starts out good, but the last minute and a half are just epic, like the youtube comments say.

I'm glad Apocalyptica are getting some genuine recognition in the US now, just a shame that it took Corey Taylor to get it.

Good song, though. But if you wanna see 'em really work their magic, you gotta see Path. (If you prefer vocals, and bizarre lyrics, here you go.)

Nezumi 05-30-2008 01:45 AM

I've sometimes thought there's not enough Apocalyptica in my life.
Not joking.

Circuitous 05-30-2008 02:13 AM

Yeah.

Last Hope

So hey, how about that dev position?

Pretty cool way to keep my pants up.

The new Disturbed album was such a letdown. None of the tracks stood out and made an impression on me. I mean, I understand that Disturbed is all kind of same-y, but it was pretty much just one long, boring song.

All bands and singers have their own sound. That means that when you mention the fact that Disturbed or some other band's music all sounds the same, you are correct, but that's common knowledge, and it's not an insult to the music at all. It's just that people like to point this out to try to fit in, or act cool, when in reality, most of the crap they listen to sounds the same too.

I've listened to this album a few times through, and I've only caught onto a few songs so far, however, I can say with no ego that that is far better than some other bands I've listened to. Haunted is good, and there's one where the lead singer uses somewhat of a high pitched melody, called Enough, that rocks my socks off. A few of their songs sound a bit like Staind, but overall, they're still just a phenomenal band, and I can't wait to see them in concert again and again.

No, there's a difference between having your own sound and having songs that sound identical. Bands like Iced Earth and Iron Maiden have their own sound and sound very different from song to song. Disturbed used to have songs that sounded pretty different from each other, but this new album blends together in a sea of same-y to me, and I don't like it. Bands like Dragonforce demonstrate exactly what I mean, all of their songs sound exactly alike.

Speaking of Iron Maiden, last night's show was fucking incredible.

Constipated_Zombie 06-12-2008 07:05 PM

Posting this just for you, Etzell.

Disturbed - Indestructible

Anyway, I agree that this new album's songs aren't really different from each other in sound wise, but to me they're still good, just not as good as their old songs.
