Weekly Title Shots and Title Matches.... Having one championship at the end is dumb and lets the league die after one team wins and everyone else ragequits. Start a ladder that never ends
|
im in if and only if there is indeed a lower tier.
|
Endless ladder?
|
Yes, its a title defense system that the STA league (and others) used in TFC.
Basically there was different tiers and each tear had a champion. If the lower tier champion defended their title X amount of times they would be promoted to the higher tier. You would win a shot at the tier title (for lack of a better term atm) after winning x amount of games in a row, or by some other formula. Usually the week before you'd have a title shot match against another team and the winner plays the champion the following week and the process just keeps cycling. Lose the title? Well you have to earn the title shot back. It does hold some merit, keeps you interested really no matter your teams W-L record because it gives you the hope that hey, put a few good matches together and your team might get a shot. Keep improving. Much better than... lose your first 4 matches and not having anything to look forward to.. other than the fun and competition which obviously won't enough for everyone. |
I do hope this will be tiered...It seems like from what I've heard others say that there are going to be some established top tier players on some teams. I can appreciate these guys wanting to maintain their teams because they've stuck with FF through it all, but how are we going to establish what teams fall in what tiers?
I've observed some pick-ups and unless some of these established guys "know" you, it's hard to determine where you fall and what you can contribute. It'd be nice to have a community night at least once a week leading up to the proposed dates where people who are interested in competitive play can come through and play while being observed by some of the established guys, almost like a combine so maybe teams can be formed and put together. Thoughts? |
Count me in with DET-
Also is there a specific teamspeak that we can use? Or should I host an impromptu- teamspeak whenever needed? |
I have a teamspeak teams can use if needed. Just let me know
