It's a delightfully evil story of a smart and rather nice guy who just happens to find... power! Enough power to start changing the world to his liking ^_^
Ahh, this anime is not about fighting or girls in short skirts (even though there are girls in short skirts, of course. It IS an anime, you know?) but about said power and how our hero utilizes it to achieve his goals without being seen. By anyone alive. ^_^

I've only seen the first...15 episodes in the Death Note series, but it's really good. It isn't your typical flying around shooting masses of energy at each other, it's more of a suspense/mystery. It's pretty good.

I read the manga. Was a bit of a headache at times what with all the amateur translations.

Yeah, that is actually one of the reasons I am learning to speak and read Japanese. The best way to find out the pure form of the story is to read it in its original language IMO.

My friend said that the anime is completed.. even though i thought the manga is ongoing.. who's wrong?
Ive DLed 25 episodes, not sure why i haven't watched them yet.. might be because i need to finish the "House" I've downloaded..

Yeah. They are ten times worse with irregular verbs and shit than any other language I have seen.

They have COUNTING WORDS.

Like if you are counting fish, the Japanese translation would not be "1, 2, 3, 4, 5". It would be "1 Fish countword, 2 Fish countward, 3 Fish countward"... they have special words for counting all kinds of shit, from fish to paper to people to random other shit. It is crazy.

But meh, I love too much of their entertainment media to let a little thing like a completely irrational language and several thousand individual characters deter me. ^.^'''''

I'm at ~300 Kanji right now and I'm getting the feeling that the Japanese are the most impolite people on earth! If they really were polite they'd stop with the Kanji nonsense right away...
