Alright....I have a question for the community at large. I have a MediaCenter computer, and I would like to record some footage to put on Youtube. This is stuff I have on VHS video. Thing is, it records in a format not compatable with Youtube.

Anyone know how to convert the video over?

www.zamzar.com

"Save & convert YouTube videos !
We've introduced the ability to convert files from URLs and we've included support for all your favourite video sites - Click here for more info."

I think you're moving the wrong direction Coronius...I believe he's saying that he wants to put a video on youtube...not grab one.

Iggy, without a digital recorder you have to have a video capture card in your PC. Beyond that I'm out of ideas.

The problem is that he's using an analog format. Until he gets his computer seeing it that site won't help.

I'm sorry, I wasn't really clear with the problem. (Slaps forehead)

Recording the footage on the computer isn't the problem....Media Center records in a format that isn't YouTube compatible.

My question is how can I convert the video file from Media Center's format to a YouTube compatible one?

I've never uploaded videos on Youtube, but I know they use flash video format (.flv). Just search google for a ".yourformat to .flv converter" or something of the sort. There are SO many .flv converters out there.

You don't need to convert it to .flv, youtube will do that for you, however, you need it in a format youtube will recognize, like wmv, or avi.

Youtube works with mpgs, and avi's (divx even works)

SUPER works great, but the site is hard to use and the program is ugly.
