haven't played, but it looks a lot like Star Ocean till the end of time, which in my opinion was way to easy cause of the battle system.

Agreed. God I wish I could've played it longer, I only had my lunch break free to play it. 20 minutes total, enough time to get to the first save point. Sweet as hell so far.

If it wasn't for ps2 I'd consider playing it.

Not that I have anything against the ps2, personally, it's just that I'm morally opposed to them in general. Or maybe it's that I don't have one.

In any case if it's that good (as in, anywhere near as good as 6 or 7) I'd like to play it.

I've never enjoyed a FF game. I've never finished one. The only one I liked alot was IV but I still didn't finish it because I got bored. Chrono Trigger FTW!

omg i honestly thought that the battle type was going to be gay and honestly i love this style of battling vs random battles. it makes the game feel like its moving.

ff9 was the worst i think, every 2 steps id get a random battle. this is just amazing i just fought the firehorse and it was an orgy of fighting it was god like.

too bad my dad just got home or i would keep playing(he gets the tv when he gets home :))

I watched one of my friends play for about 30 minutes. I realised I really hate the fight system. What happened to the classic turn based system I used to know and love? Why is it so accepted to not have a turn based game?

its not all too bad once you have played it for a while, turn based is just slower, thats what most of the play time was, this type kinjd of makes the game move a bit faster, plus from what Lithium has been saying it seems like the game is going to take like 50 sum odd hours to beat so im only about 5 hours in.

no FF12 has the same battle system as FF 11, the MMORPG, FF12 has an amazing battlesystem, as you can control anyone you want, and theres things called gambits which are like commands for each character in ur party,

Gambit 1= [ ALLY: HP < 70% ] -------------------[ Cast Cure ]
Gambit 2= [Foe: Party leaders target ]------------[ Attack ]
Gambit 3= [Foe: HP < 25% ]----------------------[ Cast Fire ]

im not sure if u can get more then 2, but for example i put 3,

its listed in priority too, so its like elseif statements.

if { hp < 70%; cast.cure
}
else {leader.foe; attack
}

or something of that nature, i havent taken a coding class since like 11th grade.

The battle system IMO is still a bit of a letdown from the turn based ones of yore, if only because with a MMO-style battle system some of the tension of a huge fight is lost, and you spend alot more time running around enemies rather than just groaning when you get a random battle.

Other than that, let me be the first to say "Thank fucking god this isn't X-2." Because that game was so lame story wise I wanted to kill myself. I mean, X had it's shortfalls, but god.

Why does Square always give their male leads such fucking long thick eyelashes? It's like a Grecian fantasy world in there/

hahah. yea cid was in practicly every final fantasy. in some fasion or another.

FF12 has none of the old character names, lik bigs and wedge were in 3 4 5 6 7 8 and 9, cid was i think it it since the first one, kupos were like in all of them except 7 and 8 and 10.

btw, did 12 bring back avatars like bahamut and such. i think this is oging to be the biggest thing missing from this game is the summons.

Cid Highwind is indeed the most badass of all existing or potential Cids, but the magitek researcher Cid was great too (even if he did drop dead from a little bad fish...)

Blah, just rented this game last night and played it for less than five minutes..guess I don't like the fighting system..maybe because I hated the crystal chronicle fighting system and pathetic story line. I click attack and it takes him like 15 seconds to go attack the dumb guy...:|
