View Full Version : How FPS Alters Gameplay

After building a new "near top of the range" PC recently. I decided i would experiment with how high FPS i could get. So i set -dev in launch options, put fps_max to 500, and im getting 400fps. I play with this and i immediately notice that i conc MUCH further, my jumps go MUCH further, rampsliding seems to be MUCH easier, and i can almost run up walls. However, one thing i notice is that the SG locks on much quicker.

I set fps_max back to 100, and i bind a key to "fps_max 500". I run in a straight line, and then i press the binded key, my fps rockets, but my running speed slows down?

What causes this effect in TFC, and will it still be present in FF?

Strange stuff happens at low FPS too in Half Life One.

Any reports on HL2/Source and clip emptying speed vs fps?
