Hey everybody. [..snip..]

This is an attempt at keeping track of community members working on mods/custom content/fixes for Fortress Forever.
So everybody working on models, skins, sounds, or animations please reply in this thread and share some info on your project.
That way we can prevent several people from working on the same thing, saving everybody precious time and effort.

And here's a list of what needs to be done and is not being worked on by either dev. staff or community members..

Better visibility for grens/projectiles etc. DONE
Swimming animations (though some seem to be present, just not implemented?)
New skins or player models to make it easier to tell which class is mulching you from afar
Low(er) poly player models for FPS increase (by downgrading over distance)

Any updates and additions are obviously welcome. As for what gets put on the list of stuff needed,
i guess community and dev input would govern that. For now i just threw together a couple of things.

The reskinned players are cool, but still the same problem I always had with how the FF player skins were already, they dont really match. I know their different classes, but I think they should still match somewhat. Dunno.

and that was something I was going to work on, but I wasnt so worried about it right now. Eitherway, it must be done!

a082 wasn't sure whether he'd do the AR. But in a PM it sounded like that'd be the next project of his..

Once I get my new computer, I'll probably get back into Skinning.
I'm not familiar with Source yet but DrZero said that its similar to modding HL so I will give it a try.

only things that got me the most where you cannot compile/decompile models in Milkshape, you cannot view models in HLMV. every world model (basically anything other then a view model) has a physics model which must match up with the main mesh (basically a rough collisions sleeve) and all texture properties are done though the VTM files, NOT the QC like in HL2
other then that there is just 4-5 extra files to every model which must travel together with the same name and correct extensions. Pretty simple after youv decompiled, changed, then recompiled your first model.

Completely circumstantial, if a082 would like to do the honors, thats fine enough for me, after all, it only makes sense. I make pretty reskins, he makes working models
besides, Iv been rather busy anyway and making mods must go on hold for now...

nothing special. Mainly a ghillie suit for the sniper, it actually blends in with grass!!, not that thats really a useful asset as FF mod though :cry: but it looks good :D
Then theres always the CSS/FPSB ports, and maybe a few hacked character models (u know, like the stuff I used to have out there, the usual camos, knives, helmets, swords, ect.)
So add it all up, I think Im working on a realism mod, or in my case surrealism

I plan on working on it some more. I'm more or less just bringing TFC sounds into FF. I had it most of the way done until I used Crosus to update to 1.11. I'm probably going to sit and wait for the mod to pick back up again before I do since that project isn't very useful for many people (few people would use it) and it is very time consuming. I hope to see things pick back up though.

I've started working on reskinning the nade models. I'll have some screenies up today, when I get home from work. Basically just working on keeping the look the same, but ramping up the vibrancy of the colors and adding a few bits here and there to make them more visible.


The MIRV has the biggest change so far. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

So far, I've done the Frag gren, MIRV, Conc, and NailGren

Hey Geo, thanks for keeping things current here - i'll try and sit down today to update the thread. Maybe you can apply for mod rights in this forum here or something..? Would cut down on the bureaucracy so to speak ;)
