Can't free look in source tv demos?

For my next avi I require free look in source TV but I cannot get it to move when it is in that mode... I can use the other modes, but not free look.

The tv menu at the bottom of the screen is always present.

I have tried some spec_ commands to no avail.

Any suggestions?

Do you have any special binds for wasd? cause if its not default it will not move?

I executed config_default.cfg but it didn't make a difference.

I play with the arrow keys but no special binds.

*edit: using the playdemo command instead of demoui works a bit better, but I still cannot free float. The camera is stuck in the middle of the map.

Had this issue when I tried working a little with source TV demos (was thinking about doing some avi work) and made a post somewhere about it. Iirc my query didn't get much thought/response.

99% sure it's nothing I/we/you can do anything about.

I did wonder whether it was the "flythrough" thing that might be messing things up?

Well supposedly other people can free look/fly around source tv's fine... So i dunno what the deal is.

Something about Drive mode, I think it's an option with demoui (a button, probably)?

Also sometimes this crap wont stop popping up every 20 seconds... Even with cl_drawhud 0 and hidepanel all....

Is there some command to disable this also?

As for map guide, try restarting the demo, that fixes it sometimes

Actually that worked...

Except not on my blis_2fort demos... That map continues to pop up the map guide, and also won't let me free look...

Well, you can edit the MapGuideMenu.res found in
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\SourceMods\FortressForever\r esource\ui
not sure what you can edit, or delete MapGuideMenu.res completly, with a backup of course

I don't know if r_drawvgui 0 would work. (If you try, make sure you have the value "1" binded on a key somewhere.)

Hoop I have a fanicy custom script that will take everything off your screen but: Death Messages, Flag Icon and the text in the middle of the screen that says stuff like "the enemy has your flag, captued it" and the other way around. If you want it pm me.
