it's all v simple when you figure it out, but if you want a basic example then check out my custom FF pack if you can find it anywhere (from ages ago) - it has some simple flashing pipes in there - i'm in the process of updating it all atm and will release it again soon hopefully.
another fancy idea i've been thinking about is using materials that change with your speed (like the aardvark speedometer) for use on player/gren/etc models (if it lets you do this; i haven't tried yet) to massively highlight stuff that's coming towards you and hence needs your immediate attention. for example, maybe stuff like rckts that turn much brighter colours (and maybe also start to flash faster and faster) the faster they are moving towards you... there are loads of v cool potential uses, and there are quite a few material proxy thingies you can use (just google it and see if they give you any ideas... tho i don't know how many work properly in FF - it's ages since we pld around with all this making the aardvark speedo [which btw really is properly calibrated to mph lol]). |
