Open Letter to Valve: Orange Box Date Change

Dear Valve:
When you moved the Orange Box date from October 9th to October 10th, no one seems to noticed. BUT I DID! My birthday is tomorrow, all my classes have been canceled and I was planing to lock myself in my room and play nothing but the orange box all by long like the the nerd I truly am but I can't because IT WAS MOVED UP ONE DAY!

You leave me to choice but to celebrate my 21st birthday the traditional way... getting drunk as hell and then drunk dialing valve to call them rude names.

Your Crazy Fan,
Mooga

Happy Birthday. If it helps, I get the Orange Box and a chance to see a band I've loved for over a decade on the 10th.

Lets see if they actually release it on the 10th, seeing as how it has been atleast 5+ years in the making.

Huh? TF2 has already been released, in the public beta. Episode 2 hasn't been in the making for 5 years, and neither has Portal.

LMAO, better check your sources..
Yea Tf2 is in beta form, BFD!
Tf2 has been in making for over 5 years. The org. release date for Tf2 was sometime over 2-3 years ago.
When the org. HL2 source was stolen, along with the very beg. stages of Tf2.

Valve(Steam) pushed back the release date for Tf2, over and over again.
Finally confirming a release for it, sometime last winter, they still pushed it back again, to the 9th.

NOW the 10th.

One the org. 100 people to D/l TFC, that was me... Standing in line @ fileplanet, on dial-up. So, I know alittle bit of what I am talking about.

Not really... you seem to be skeptical they'll release TF2, when it has already been released...

Happy Birthday!

If anyone has noticed, my B-Day was on the 30th of September. (The original release date of Half-Life 2 before it was also pushed back) :P

But TF2 has already gone gold.

How much longer are you going to embarrass yourself pretending you know about TF games?

TF2 has gone GOLD huh, where is the general release to the public?
They havent, its still in BETA form.

Reserve, and beta releases are not considered going GOLD.

Perhaps you don't understand what it means when a game has "gone gold." It means that the final product has been sent off for manufacturing. Perhaps wikipedia will convince you:
Quote:
The expression that a software product "has gone gold" means that the code has been completed and "is being mass-produced and will be for sale soon." Other terms for the version include gold master, gold release, or gold build.

I thought I was the only one that noticed the push-back. I then was thinking that maybe I was wrong about it being the 9th.

Nope, it was totally the 9th... it's just odd that they move it down ONE day. Seems completely random to me...

Has a taste of 1984 in it.

"The release date was never the 9th comrade. It was always the 10th!"
