Coin Appraisal?

I got this 1873 Canadian dollar and some other 1950-70 coins from canada / america / france. Anyone know what those are worth ?

Coins from way back when have higher concetrations of precious metals Crayola. That and collectors are generally crazy.

I doubt the 1950-70 coins are worth much, currently, unless they're special and/or rare. I would get the Canadian coin appraised by someone.

Their worth is heavily dependent on the condition. There are different levels of coin condition, and at the top tier, you'd be surprised how much detail there is on a brand new coin that you never saw because (1) you probably never looked at a coin that closely before and (2) even a small amount of handling wears it off. Pretty sure even a coin as recent as 1950 could be valuable if it was in absolute mint condition. (pun intended)

I don't know why I know about this, guess that's the benefit of reading random crap when you're bored. lol
