Hyeah! Hyeah! Hyeah!

Here's a tweak for those who can't get enough of the old school:
I missed the classic jump sound (from Quake, originally) in my Fortress experience, so I just opened
\Steam\SteamApps\team fortress classic.gcf

and found
root\tfc\sound\player\plyrjmp8.wav

I exported it, and put it into
\Steam\SteamApps\SourceMods\FortressForever\sound\ player\footsteps\movement

I backed up jump1.wav, jump2.wav, and jump3.wav and replaced all three with the plyrjump8.wav file. Now when I bunnyhop I can sing along with that familiar hyeah! hyeah! hyeah! hyeah!

Here's what I used:
http://files-upload.com/files/517738/plyrjmp8.wav

Many cheers to the development team! This is the true Team Fortress legacy!
The war is never over! FORTRESS FOREVER!

Really? I've played alot of Quake and alot of TFC and I never noticed a difference. The bitrate is different on the .wav files (I can tell this by extracting the quake jump from the Quake .pak) but otherwise I always thought it was the same noise.

People can blank over the game sounds to hear me sneaking up on them all they want, I'm still gonna loose a primed nade in their face and supershotty the bowels out of em ;-D

FF should have it's own jump grunt.. the jump sound is too boring imo
is there a way to get the TFC grunt for FF in the meantime?

You kidding me? The Quake jump grunt is very different from the TFC jump grunt.
