Maybe even a relatively bloodless one, if we take a few pages from our British brethren.

But you know, we can essentially say that the U.S. was reformed after the Civil War even though we maintained our original documentation.
Just because one is pissed off at the way things are being run and people's sole reliance on what party they happen to join one day, doesn't mean they think the country is doomed. Quite the opposite. Although I am VERY worried about our financial future as a republic.

Back to OP. I like the idea that the constitution was read before starting a new session. I also like the idea of revisiting a rule that was already in place and IGNORED. There is no reason why any legislation shouldn't be available for x days before voting on it. I also like the idea of making that legislation available to the public and streamlining the time frame it's available and method of delivery so WE THE PEOPLE can find it. Common sense there. I also like the idea of having to state constitutional authority before a bill can be heard. WTF!! Isn't that also common sense? Do we need a new party called the common fucking sense party?

Considering how FEW people in the US that actually HAVE common sense.... it will be a very small party.

I found a site a while back that actually shows active bills in progress and their contents. But I don't remember if it showed a given state or federal legislative agendas.

Reason #1 why I have never supported the idea of a real democracy vs a representative republic.

The proposed site\process makes it easier and more timely. As well as document congressional actions such as how and who voted for what. You can find that stuff but it's hard sometimes. And 100 percent of the bills are not always published until much later. Perhaps after the dust has settled. I had a hell of a time trying to find the health care bill. So did VOTING members of congress. But no one gives a shit really.

Another proposal on the table besides citing congressional authority is citing how it's going to be paid for. They kind of do that now but a new proposal is to force congress to cut something. It doesn't force them out of debt but it could be a start. You want to increase the FDIC and FDA authority and hire 10s of thousands of new people to enforce that sticky shit you just passed.... ok what you gonna propose to cut? Buying more Chinese bonds isn't going to cut it. Geithner is already in their back pocket.

That would nice and in the common sense world makes sense for every day administrative purposes.
