what video player do u use

lately ive been experiencing some fps drops with VLC when watching a movie, after an hour or so.

then found smth called "media player classic home cinema" seems to fix that problem for me.

are there any recommended video playback softwares any1 can tell?

i think keypoints might be here: using fair amount of system sources and possibly being able to run every video format. vlc used to fulfill these requirements perfectly, dunno why this problems began happening

one more thing: im completely newb to HD technologies, got a new tv and a laptop with an hdmi port. do i need to run any other software especially for HD movies playback?

MPC-HC

Internal filters for HD playback so no need to hustle with some codecpacks
Got some problems with SPDIF output tho but installed ext AC3Filter and everything working nice now.
