Reminder about FF job postings... tell your friends!

Although we're all busy working away on FF, we've lost some folks recently (due to work, uni, & etc). So, we could use some additional people to help speed things up. We're currently looking for folks who can support the following roles:
  • Level Designer
  • Voice Actor
  • Programmer
  • Model Animator
See this page for a more detailed description of each position: http://www.fortress-forever.com/?a=openings

If you feel you are qualified then shoot us an e-mail (with sample work attached) to fortressforever at gmail.com. If you know someone who might be able to take on one of those roles, please point him/her our way. Thanks!

I'm guessing "reasonable" equipment != $30 headset.

I wonder what I can get from school...

Reasonable equipment = proper variable compression mic, mixer, SPDIF out, SPDIF in to PC (whether onto Audigy 2, X-Fi, or Pro-Tools Box), and proper recording software (ie Audition, Pro-Tools, Cubase etc.).

That said, I'll shoot you guys an e-mail tomorrow with some voice samples. I needed a reason to get a new vocal mic anyhow I have one of those deep throaty jobbers and a flair for the dramatic.

Oh and I was a TFC/CS match-caster for Gamecastradio back in the day, so screaming loudly about all things Fortress is my for-te...

*groans*

I'd love to try voice acting as well (I'm not scared to tell a couple of hundred people they have to wait a little longer so I guess I can tell a mike, that I've got the flag and that all is well with the gas release ^_^ ) and I can code as well... even though I prefer Java and haven't ever contributed in a mod before (except for the Quake gren-launcher gren that always goes for the player "LittleJohn"... He deserved it ^_^)

stop typing and put your voice.wav files where your mouth is. Common - I need some good stuff coming in. Submit a demo! DO IT. DO IT NOW. fortressforever@gmail.com

Oooh, I'm quite interested in the voice stuff...

Daft question, but what do you need the samples to be of?

Only got some of a few internet Radio shows I've done.

yessir!
I'm at work right now and not even I will do the "Mödööc!" here... I'll do it tonight and also ask some of my friends if they want to do it as well... (And I'll force them, if they don't want to ^_^)

Are
"Medic!",
"Erm... excuse me, I'm in need of medical attention",
"You have the enemy flag" (Will we still be able to change these? When I stopped playing TFC, I was left with the sounds "!BEEP!" (you have the enemy flag), "flag" (your teammate has...) and "dropped" my teammate dropped the enemy flag and I have to push my countdown button again ^_^) and a slightly Tekken'ish "FIGHT!" okay as samples or do you need longer, not game related ones?

To be more to the point, we need character voices. Grunts, Screams, Death Screams, Medic calls, Armor Calls.. whatever you can think of. I need something dramatic here.. or hularious. Whatever suits your style - but I need to hear some sweet voice acting. Common guys.

Hit me with those samples.. hit me hard.

yeah, you could do different sounds for the classes: The HWGuy could jump with something like Trent Reznor's Quake 1 "HUUUUUGH!" while the Scout is more into "hepp, hepp, hepp, hepp" ^_^
