I can't remember mine now and I can't access the tracker at work but I think mine was 5 digits and started with a 3. I got HL within a couple weeks of it coming out.
And as someone said before in this thread, your won id has no bearing on your steam id. Steam ID's are given out first come first serve. I remember staying up the night steam was supposed to go live to try and get a low steam id (that sounds really stupid now). I eventually gave up since it was taking so long and went to bed. |

My memory is failing; was Steam when TF1.5 went live? That was the big mover, when it went form 1109-odd to 1.5. And Steam was shit for ages, but now it's actually really rather good.
My WON ID was about 34k-ish |

No, TF1.5 was before steam. That was when they added the new netcode. And 1.5 was never a version number. They did it to reflect that TFC was kinda in between TF and TF2, hence TF1.5. I forget the version number for the 1.5 change but it was 11something I think. Course noone calld it TF1.5 so they changed it back to TFC.
That's also why I hate the people who call the version of TFC on steam TF1.6. That's true for CS because CS was at version 1.5 before steam and 1.6 on steam added the riot shields and whatnot. People like to confuse that 1.6 as to meaning that TFC's version also went from1.5 to 1.6 which it didn't. Minor technicality, but it ranks up there with calling TF2, TFC2. |

I'm pretty sure that bhop was uncapped in 1.1.0.6, so its probably 1.1.0.7 or 1.1.0.8 like you said.

The thing was, gliding was a very, very useful skill before bhop was so mainstream. What it was is the ability to do a pipejump/concjump/rocketjump/whatever, land, and keep a good bit of your momentum for a while. It was fast paced, but not retarded like uncapped bhop. With uncapped bunnyhop, you had offenses full of soldiers and HWGuys, simply because they could speed in and out with the flag and take whatever minor damage came their way. Also, a big part of HW back then was that the faster you were moving, the faster you killed something (the nickname for it escapes me). I.e., you'd get a bit of momentum, then fire while jumping forward, and would do more damage. All of the early super-HWs were gauged on their ability to do that (this was before tracers and conc-firing were a big thing), mainly Gup20, Destro, Iceman, Maj.GHOB, ][V][achine, PabloSanLucas, and M0neY. |

Uncapped bhop is just as lame as having no advanced movement system at all.
Each end of the spectrum deprives the game of a meaningful skill-set. |
