Anyone else in the states been hit by the ice?
My parents have been out of power since saturday. Im lucky to be on such a reliable power grid, alot of my neighbors are not so fortunate. Branches are snapping off trees and even whole fucking trees are crashing down taking out power lines where I'm at. Last night I thought I saw lighting flashes in the distance but they were transformers blowing up down town. There is a half inch coating of ice on every surface outside. It sucks in Missouri.

Damn Appalachian mountains, reducing all our blizzards to a handful of flurries by the time they reach the east coast. Just once I'd like to wake up to 3 feet of snow, that just seems like it would be so unreal.

Yup, we have tons of ice here at north Texas. There's some slight predictions for sleet/snow coming up.

We got some here last night and this morning in Utica, NY. I'm a volunteer firefighter and we had 7 different calls today related to the weather. Mostly just trees/power lines down.

Heh I live in Cleveland, and I think we've had snow here once- back in November. I don't miss having to clean off my car of the stuff, but on the other hand this is really, really weirding me out

Ok, now they say it will be high winds and snow all night for us. As if the ice isn't enough. I just hope a branch doesn't clobber my truck. To many trees in my town, ah well.
