3dsmax to hammer export?
I'm just wondering...
is there any way that you can create a map (or most of the map anyway) in 3dsmax and then export it into hammer for creating entities etc? |

I remember reading about a plugin allowing exactly this! It was for CS if I remember right, the info may be on Countermap somewheres! :D

I wouldn't recommend it, really. You can definitely do this using XSI, but again I don't really see the point. Hammer is fairly fast and efficient once you get going. It's not the greatest level design software ever created, but it's not half bad (when it doesn't CRASH ALL THE TIME AWIHRAWHGGASGD).

I'd greatly prefer being able to map with faces rather than brushes... But yeah hammer isn't great, but its not bad either.
