Over the past few months I have seen this as a growing problem. So I decided to post a video and write an article about the topic. The article will be on the fortress training website and will go live saturday at 6pm central time.

before i watched the video, i thought you meant enemy sentries..

this doesn't seem to be that bad a problem, does it? iirc, the nobuild allows a clear doorway in and out, so whats the problem?

The problem is noob engineers building their guns directly in front of their respawn. I got kicked and 5 minute banned from one server for exactly what the video showed.

lol ^ if they bitched about you spamming tell admin hey they had a sg there and i took it out, end of discussion, imo. But just wondering what server was this or which servers if there are more then 1, b/c i never had this prob before and i play in pretty much every pub server that has ppl playing.

I have seen this happening on 3 different servers:

The EO server - 63.210.148.178:27015

One world on line server 7 - 174.133.201.130:27095

And especially on a server in europe that I removed from my favorites, so I dont know the address. The game play in the video was not staged, nobody even new that I was filming the video. The sentry gun in front of respawn footage shows it does happen.

And I dont see what the big deal is?

If a server bans people for putting nade in front of 2fort top spawn, you need to stop playing there.

I have been playing FPS since the quakeworld days, and I dont know anything? How can someone play a whole genre of games spanning 10+ years and not know anything? Do you know who Thresh is? Do a google for it. I used to download his instructional videos, and the videos of his matches. From there I would study what he was doing, and listen to what he said about how he won his matches. Playing an FPS is an art. There is real strategy involved.

I can build a website and get it on the first page of google. Change that, I have 3 websites, in different 2 different nitches that are one first page of google.

Fortresstraining is less then 6 months old, and its ranking better then some half-life sites that have been online for years.

Do a google search for team fortress forum, look at the 5th or 6th website on the first page of the results. Now tell me where "your" website is at on that list.

Do a google search for fortress forum, look at the 4th website listed on the first page of the results. Where is your website in that list?

One of my forums gets over 2 million page views a month, over 3,100 members visiting every 30 days, and 800 - 1,000 members visiting every 24 hours.

There is a "reason" why some of the trash talk has been going on over at fortresstraining. If you had your own forum, it would be very clear as to what is happening.

Kev, most of us have been playing fortress mods for nearly a decade. It's pointless to respond to such comments. You are doing good with the fortresstraining site. If you need help making videos, or want to record some new videos explaining things, I can record some for you if you want. Just let me know what you want to explain, and I'll be happy to be a fortresstraining guinea pig.
