Since I can't post in locked threads......

And I have some info in reference to the subject at hand.....

I have to make a new thread.......

It wasn't any of the OT servers. I was on at the time, and questioned the logic on this one. It was the NFO server. A rather rude voice told the server at large to "go to www.fortress-forever.com and file a complaint if you have a problem with our rules. Don't bring it up here."

I wasn't making an issue of it, at least, not then.... but someone asked about the guys name, and I replied to him(in voice comm)...

As the round changed, I decided I didn't want to play on a server that was populated by people more anal than the OT clan. At least Scuzzy and his people aren't outright RUDE.

I'm starting to think that NFO stands for Now Fuck Off.

The only thing that confuses me about the OT server is apparently someone got kicked for having a name that was too short. ("ww" I think)
I've been threatened with this in the past on a different server, not playing FF, when I was using the name 'b' and I just can't figure it out. How can you have a name that is too short?

Poor =AS= zE apparently can't join [o-t] because his name is "unreadable", whatever that means. I've seen people with names like asdf or similarly short that also can't join.

Some people have names with non-ascii characters in them. I suppose I can understand not letting those people into the server. It's the short name one that baffles me.

Do you mean b, baffleboy, shortbus, etc...

I think some admins use the name to ban someone rather than their steam ID.... which is really lazy, but it's hard to compensate for that.

Oh, and Boltr...... that was cute. I pretty much expected that joke, though.

BTW Scuzzy... when I was on your servers the past few days, I noted that some people were dropping language over the mic. Honestly, it wasn't really a problem.... since no one was directing anger at another player... it was mostly the "oh shit where did you come from?!" and "shit, I almost got out with the flag"... and stuff like that, and a couple of f-bombs. I didn't see it as much of a problem, so I didn't actually say anything aside from the occasional "try watching the language please...server rules" after the f-bombs. No one made an issue about it, and everyone actually laughed when some dumbass called someone else a "nigga"(in jest, I think), and got a perm.

I just didn't want people to get in trouble over it if they were later warned about it.

Thanks, one of the things we really like is when admin's aren't around the regulars try to keep the server running smootly. We appreciate that.
