In my opinion phantom_r is just better suited for comp play for the reasons I listed here:

That's just my opinion. But nobody else has run _b1 in pugs since it's initial release either. And I'm fairly certain every one knows about it by now, though it's possible they forgot.

I don't mind touch buttons, but I also don't have a problem with +use buttons either. It's not like they're broken or don't work or something, if you look at the button and +use it, it works. A lot of people like to complain about "You can not use this button." But that message only gets displayed when you're still spamming +use after death.

Also do you really get frame drops on _r? I remember classic_b2 used to have huge drops when the action started getting close to water, but squeek fixed a leak and removed the box holding the map, and I haven't heard any complaints about it since.

The issues I have with ff_phantom_b1 are:

1. Preseason is being used as a time to gauge how well teams do. Throwing a new map, despite being a remake of an old one, might throw some teams off. I believe that the clipping of the button stairs into ramps is a significant enough change to keep phantom_r for familiarity sake.

2. Competitive players are often against change. So far only two people have mentioned to me that they would like the map played, Moya and Moto. If more people wanted to play it or I saw it being played more often in pickups I would be more inclined to change it.

Now, here's what I'll do. If a team would rather play ff_phantom_b1 over ff_phantom_r they can BUT both teams have to agree to it. Also, an admin should be told either before the match or when scores are reported.

I feel like the map rotation we have now is pretty good. If people would like me to remove or add maps they need to let me or an admin know and gather some support for the cause.

I enjoyed the the new version. The only change that I felt significantly affected me while playing is the clipping on the walls of water way. As for no one ever nominating b1 in pickups, I believe I tried to nominate it, and it did not recognize the map.

This is a very good point. I'll need people to tell me they want to play the map then. But like I said, if both teams agree to it, you can play ff_phantom_b1 instead.

1st games in the books was fun this could be good and well worth it
