U2 360 Tour

Went to this show last night here in Baltimore. My fiance' is a huge U2 fan, while I'm what is basicly a "casual enjoyer of their music". I must say, this was a fantastic show. I've seen some great stage shows before; Alice Cooper stands at the top with the theatrics, Scorpions, Poison, Sebastian Bach, Doro(4 times and counting), Yngwie Malmsteen, Dio, Crack the Sky(3 times and counting), Iron Maiden, Metallica(twice), Guns N Roses, Kid Rock, Korn, and many, many others.

This show stands on it's own, with the elaborate stage set up, and the video screen that gave everyone in the stadium a great view. The opening band(Florance and the Machine) was pretty damned good, even though I've never heard of them before. Definitely wasn't cheap(tickets aside, we spent over $200 last night), but it was worth it. I'm feeling the affects from my indulgence.... but fuck it. You only live once.

If you even casually like their music, I recommend going to this show if you get the chance.

My wife loves U2. We've seen them together several times and they always put on a great show. I'm in the same boat as you. I like them and appreciate their music but I wouldn't consider myself a big fan.

We saw them right after 9/11 when they played in Oakland, CA. I remember they had all the victims names scrolling across a huge projection screen during the song "New York". It created a very powerful and moving feeling in the crowd. Good stuff.

Anyway we're thinking about making a 5 hour road trip to see them play in Montreal in July. Should be fun if we end up doing it.
