Comedy horror is becoming very unoriginal now. Still I found it slightly amusing, I wouldn't watch it though.
I don't like the fact we should find horrible gorey violence funny. Baaa! |

Horror/Comedy peaked in the late 80's/early 90's, had some fun times in flaccid attempts to be revived (see: Rob Zombie movies, SOTD, and a handful of other less than orignals), but should safely be put to rest, or at least until Raimi gets tired of playing with Spiderman and Jackson gets amnesia and regresses to himself circa 1992
At least Tom Savini still has work |

Shaun of the Dead is the only good horror comedy, along with a few others with names so obscure that I fail to recall them.

Oh please, as I mentioned, there was a very prolific period for Horror/Comedy about 15-20 years ago, Peter Jackson and Sam Raimi being the obvious two to point out, Jackson with Bad Taste and Dead/Alive (which I agree tends to be overrated but is still awesome), and Raimi with the last 2 of the Evil Dead trilogy.
As well, around this time was the proliferation of Troma, out of which spawned about 80% crap and 20% gold. As well, Troma later released at least 3 good horror/comedies after 1995, being the Trey Parker film Cannibal!: The Musical, Toxie 4, and Terror Firmer. Not to mention Roger Corman's revival in the 80's, which saw him producing more of his raw, cheap and humorous fare, the best being Basket Case. All in all though, the 'genre' has been mined to exhaustion, mainly because almost all horror movies as of late can be lumped into 'horror with gore and fake tension' or 'horror with gore and goofy jokes'. So yes, the genre sucks, because the young directors who watched too many b-movies when they were teens don't have half the charm or wit of generations past. |

I believe I caught a portion of it on Sci Fi channel... looked fairly alright, I might look it up again.
Has anyone ever seen "I'll See You In My Dreams"? It claims to be the first Portuguese zombie horror flick. I found out about it via this Moonspell music video: http://youtube.com/watch?v=Z_RdYmK90O0 If the music video is any indication of what the movie is actually like I believe it will be very interesting. I am gonna watch it soon. :3 |
