question about bunnyhopping

How will bunnyhopping work in FF? Is it even possible to implement it the way that it works in quake-based engine games? I know half life 2 has a sort of bhopping that works by holding forward and just jumping, but there's not really that much you can do about the air control and stuff like that. So I'm just wondering if it'll be more like the original half life's style of bhopping or half life 2's, or maybe something entirely different.

Aka.. will it involve pressing the forward key to bunnyhop forward?

Couldnt find where defrag said I believe (if my memory serves me correctly) that he said they have their own solution for the bhop. And I believe he added that it will not have the reduce speed feature that tfc currently has when you pass 170% normal speed.

We have our own system planned but I have not said anything regarding the specifics or effects of it Info will be forthcoming sometime over the next few weeks.

ya off the main site in the faq area

"Yes. While bunny-hopping will be featured, it will neither be the same as TFC's, nor will it be unrestricted. We have a solution that should please nearly everyone."

By planned, you mean that a coder has looked at the movement and air accelleration code and told you guys whats possible?

Well HL2 has strafe jumping which is good for bursts of speeds in one direction but useless for doing 180degree spins in mid air to dodge a rocket which was what TFC was all about.

Im intruiged to hear what you have got in those heads of yours if its not like anything going before (which is the way defrag made it sound).
