If this were any of our TFC leagues you would be playing two full 30min rounds. How is playing 4 - 15min one's any different?

Also this league is designed to be as forgiving as possible. You, as leaders, should have your choice of anytime between Wednesday and Monday to schedule a match that you can all be happy with and field enough people in.

And there are TONS of rules set forth to ensure that clans are ready to play at match time and that things progress properly. If it's taking your opponent an hour to get ready for a 15min match then dispute them and they will get a forfeit loss and *hopefully* learn their lesson.

We didn't just toss this out of our asses either, we though about this for a long time and bounced it off of quite a few guys before deciding to go with this idea.

Edit: Do you think increasing the player cap would help?

i dont think player cap will help much... i guess we can just try it out and see how it works, but i dont think that should be enforce if you are playing US vs. US etc etc...

yeah I think that one should allow for playing just 1 map if both clans agree on it. What matters is win or loose, not what way the teams decide a fair game is. However if they cant agree then yes, 2 times same map, each on "their" server.

Easy as that

I think you people are missing the point that Satan has already stated.

In the first 3 seasons it was 2x30 minute rounds 1 map. This worked because of the 5v5 format, which allowed simultaneous O and D, so ya if you played a 5v5 match US vs EU then it would be totally fair, both teams running O and both teams running D and eachother's servers.

But now that it's 4v4 it's just got split up. 4x15 minute still is 60 minutes. But now each team plays 1 round of O and their server, and the other teams server, as well 1 round of D on each server. It's still 60 minutes so nothing has really changed.

I think calling it "2 matches" is sorta scaring people. It's still 1 match just technically 4 pickup segments in length.

Also splitting up your offensive and defensive rounds gives your team a chance to talk and discuss possible change in strats, a short regrouping period is always nice. As well if you had more than 4 people present you have an easier time letting everyone on the game play, and play to their strengths better.

I'm not sure what you EU guys were doing in past leagues, but we were already playing 60 minutes on one map. 2x30 = 60, 4x15 still = 60. We might have lowered it to 25 at some point but that's still only 10 minutes less than a full 60 minutes.

I'm not sure what the big deal is. You'd play the first 2 rounds back to back, then take a 5 minute break, then play the next 2 rounds back to back on the other server.

Look what happend to the last seasons of UGC though? .. lets say a top tier clan faces a lower tier clan... do you thin they want to play 4 rounds of that bullshit? Its gonna be like beating a dead horse over and over again... lol .. i dont know, its just my opinion maybe others dont agree.

I think you need to just start preseason now, just so clans feel like there getting somewhere, and make up schedules/rules throughout preseason and we can all vote on it or something. Ive heard rumors about 2 divisions? IMO not a very good idea at all, theres not enough clans for that right now. i think OGL/STA style is the best! that is all!

that's not a rumor, it's posted on the front page...and we have plenty of clans, there are currently 15 clans signed up. That's more that enough to run 2 divisions off of. Especially when you take into consideration the skill gap. Which plays to this:

With 2 divisions, that won't happen. And either way, if we went back to the old way of doing things, it would still be an hour of getting hammered! NOTHING HAS CHANGED except that the timelimit per round dropped from 30min-15min to allot for the team switch. There isn't even going to be a break set in the rules, it's the 3min pre-match between rounds with a 10min break between matches to allow for everyone to switch servers.

with time limit dropped as well down to 15 its not a team being hammered for 30 min they kind of get a break when round ends and maybe can refigure themselves out.

Regardless if they are not up to par whoever they vs's then yes they will get beat up each round but thats part of league play, thats the competition.
If people are scared of losing or whatnot league play is not the place for them.

Who is determining what clans play in each division? I would think that you would run a preseason to determine the divisions...

UGC schedules are up!!

I know this is really short notice, but try to make the matchups. This week is just a pre-run so there isn't going to be any points for/against clans.

I'm heading out for the night, so if you have ?'s just pm me or grab another ff admin in #ugc-ff on gamesurge.

Also I know the post says rules are updated...they aren't as of right now, but should be by the end of the night, so just keep checking in.

for those of you who don't check anywhere else in the world...
