SP Race

SP Race Gamemode:
Latest: v0.3 - 29/01/2014

So, for the past week or thereabouts, I've been working on a small project of using squeek's Base_Race that he created for ff_bhoprace_lines to create a pack of Race Lua scripts for the default CTF maps you get with FF.

Of course, the first problem was figuring out how to make it work for an actual dedicated server - ff_bhoprace_lines could be cheated by getting multiple players to race at once and having them jump on each other's heads.
The latter could be fixed by simply blocking the path when someone is racing, but this means the map needs to be rebuilt. Rebuilding all the CTF maps would take way too long.

I just gave up on that, and instead decided that I'll just make it for single-player listen servers instead (I now know how I would create a MP version, but I'll only do that when/if there is a large enough amount of support - it'll be released with v1.0 of this).

-------------------------
Information:

EDIT1: WHOOPS FORGOT TO PUT HOW TO ENABLE:
Type sv_mapluasuffix "race" into console before starting a map!

Currently, a single Scout can be on team Racer, and after the THREE! TWO! ONE! countdown, will be unfrozen and the time will start.

There are slight problems, such as the fact Racers will spawn at any Offensive Blue spawn point, so there can be slight 0.1 second differences due to starting at the back of spawn.

There is also currently a bug where some maps may have problems if you disable security before it would have been re-enabled normally (Security is always restarted on spawn - it's kinda annoying to have it say "Red Security Online" everytime you spawn, but it's to prevent disabling Security, respawning, and getting the flag without disabling it for a run).

For more details, open the ff_race.txt file and look through it.

The ff_race_highscores.txt file contains the same scores as on here, but is only changed when SP Race is updated.
Treat it as an offline copy of the leaderboards.

While there aren't 5 records for each map, you must come within 1 second of my time rounded up to the nearest second for me to accept your time and put it down here (the placeholders).

EDIT2: Y'know what? I honestly don't care about recordings now, because I trust you guys to not lie anyway. :P

Thanks to squeek for making Base_Race v0.2, which is included in the download.

Isn't it strange how most maps that are played a lot in pubs take around 25 - 27 seconds to cap...
Almost as if the size of the map affects how well it plays...
