Rust is pretty fun/terrifying/allows for fight or flight scenarios which will happen a lot. It's probably the most complete non-zombie survival fps game I've played and is only getting better over time. I think it's $20 for early access as it is still in alpha on Steam, but the most recent update has fixed the majority of lag problems. I have a nice PC, but it's far from the best out there and I am still able to run Rust on the highest graphics settings @ ~40fps.
I wasn't sure if I'd like the post apocalyptic aspect to it but it feels like an island where the government has marooned a bunch of savage people, wiped their memories and you have to claw your way to the top of the food chain by gathering resources, crafting tools/supplies and building up your own base or raiding others, starting by waking up naked with only a rock and a torch. There's big rad towns which house a number of items you can unlock with their blueprints and the dev team is currently working on somewhat of an RPG aspect by adding a leveling tree to the things you can unlock. Words I can say cannot begin to describe how fun and addictive this game is and I wholeheartedly recommend it. 8/10. |

Oh, not on Steam, but Origin has the entire Command and Conquer series for $20. I also have a GoG account, but they seem to specialize in REALLY old games.
On GoG, I have one of the old "AD&D" sets that I used to play on the Amiga BitD. Pool of Radiance, Hillsfar, Curse of the Azure Bonds, Secret of the Silver Blades... I originally bought Battle Chess and Pinball Fantasies from them, that was before they went to a "Steam-like" content delivery system. Made me really glad I'd kept the purchase e-mails. Aside from the C&C series, I also have Zuma's Revenge, Jade Empire, and Ultima VIII on Origin. They give away games once in a while, and no matter if it's a game I'm into or not, I'll grab it. Hey, free is free.

Have been playing TFC a bit and it felt like coming home from a long journey.
Everything looked a bit dusty, but once I got the flow going I remember why it has always been my personal fav game of all time. Really miss the good old tfc times

Nope, sadly I haven't played PC games for a long time
... but I really miss it and plan to start again someday - there just isn't a [popular!] game that makes me want to enough atm. Hopefully something that grabs me will come along soon but even if nothing does I'll probably eventually give in and start playing some FF/TFC/TF2/CSGO/QL/etc |

Playing Rocket League at the moment. It's very silly but very fun. Movement based 3v3 / 4v4 multiplayer game playing football with flying cars.
