Anyone who plays TF2 before FF being a past or present TFC player should be castrated!!!!

You could say the opposite to any TF player that has been waiting for TF2 for 9 years.

May I ask why FF won't be released in the weekends? More people will play it then.

Well said. I remember saying on our TF clan website in 1998 'I think TF2 is just around the corner'. Was a bit wrong on that one.
I'm looking forward to both mods, but if they do come out simultaneously I'll be playing TF2 first, if only bcos the original dream duo of Robin Walker and John Cook are on the team.
(That said, they were on the team of TFC as well, and look how that turned out )

Time Skyrider. The dev's are actually working their asses off trying to get the MOD out ASAP. As far as I am aware, they are trying to get it out as early as possible.

Yeah, but this is actually genius. Valve KNOWS a lot of people will buy the Orange Box just for the sweet deal of the three NEW games.

Then you give HL2 and EP1 to a friend who does not have it on Steam (or who does not run Steam).

He plays HL2 and EP1 and thinks "Hey, I wonder what EP2 looks like"... then he sees what a great deal the Orange Box is. So he goes and buys it... but now he has an extra copy of HL2 and Episode 1... so he gives it to a friend...

Do you see where I am going with this? It is absolutely fucking brilliant.

I think the same release day was a spot of bad luck, honestly. According to the devs Valve has been nothing but supportive of Fortress Forever.

Also note, in the last 8-9 years TF2 has been built 3 times: brotherhood of arms, that techy sort of one that was leaked with the HL2 source code, and now the current iteration of TF2. I imagine that TF2 and FF had roughly around the same development time honestly.

Generally, yes. But I think TF2 went through more than just 3 builds. I would agree that the TF2 that will be released on Monday had generally about the same development time as FF.

Probably, but only 3 of those builds seemed to get to any reasonable stage of development. It looks like the first two at least got to Alpha, especially considering that someone is using the leaked HL2 source to try and piece together the previous incarnation of TF2.

I've watched the released media and as an old TFC player i must say, Thanks guys, Thanks for keeping the competitive play aspect of the game, the feeling you get when you haul *ss at 600 vel with the noobs crying *wtf speedhacks* the original feel and whatnot. I'm definately getting this, and from what i've learned from modding so far.

Games by Gamers > all

Keep on the good work, hope this game make it in CAL

If it was to beat FF, I'd be proud if I were a dev. It's doubtful it's for FF, though.

lol buying TF2 when FF exists is like being of age to buy porno and going and renting bambi .. damn fury ppl,,, lol not to say that TF2 is going to suck in any way shape or form, but its pritty much chicken shit from valve... imo something that was a free mod once , then hl2 comes, and they mod it again really really quick like and then charge money for it when its not even done... just to compete with the true hard working devoted FF staff...
-edit games hell updated with video feeds, downloaded 46/60+ times sofar in a 6 hr period ;p

Edit: Just an addendum; i'm sure you've heard that TF2 has now announced they will release on the same date, so we are looking at getting this in your hands sooner than September 17th to ensure everyone will get some time to play before the beheamoth comes.
ooh ff release date even earlier
