Multiguns

Since this topic has never really been flushed out I thought i'd make a post.

What do you think about possibly adding multiguns to the game? NeoTF had alot of whacky shit, but MGs made the engineer really fun to play, and it was very balanced (so its possible!). Atleast in one of the versions.

For those of you new to the concept, its a gun the engi can drop (in neotf he could build 2) that by default does nothing, and cannot be repaired. Any of the other classes can touch the MG to upgrade it, at which point it fires differently based on who upgraded it. Eg a soldier would turn it into a little rpg launcher... easy to dodge, slow firing, does good damage. A pyro upgrading it would make it shoot faster little fire pyro balls. A scout or medic worth his money could easily avoid these... generally they are pretty easy to get around at high speeds, and are fragile, so placement and who upgrades it is important.

Again, these emplacements are quite fragile (if i remember a perfectly tossed nade brought it to 15% health, medics nailgun killed it in slightly over a second), and can not be repaired once built. Placement, and combination of the upgrades, is everything. If MGs could be brought to FF and balanced properly, the engineer would be -really- fun to play.

In all honesty, it sounds fun. I just think the engy is fun enough already and I'm not sure if this would be fitting for another class. However, being able to customize your SGs might be something to think about?

Yeah, multiguns would be fantastic, but only for NeoFF.

Gawsh i love this idea. neotf is so much fun to play. as a medic, i love snarks..dotn use the anti nade pod so much but its cool to have your options.

I wouldn't mind testing the MG in FF.

Seriously, though.... the MG is a lot of fun. With proper balancing, it could be a nice inclusion. Although, for balance purposes, it might be better to allow the Engy to build one or the other. Either an SG, or an MG.
