I deleted the ibtl posts because they're retarded, and this is still a discussion (paft ). Also the comic is awesome.
If I thought teleporters had a chance of being put in FF, I'd be posting all of this on the dev forums, not here. And, FYI, I'm not. But I still think I'm right and people who don't like them are just afraid of change, and I still think I haven't seen one persuasive argument against them. For the record.

I can think of a persuasive argument. It would be a good deal of work to put teleporters into the game and they don't really affect gameplay very much. The devs should probably put their effort into something else more pressing.
You see, "I" can come up with a reasonable argument against teleporters, and I'm FOR them. What's the problem with all YOU people? And then there's mrpotatoes, who seems to think that teleporters are some kind of munchkin superweapon WMD of the destruction of planets... have you ever even played TFC? Teleporters are practically useless even in pubs. Last edited by AaronJer; 07-14-2008 at 02:49 AM. |

That's because they are so easy to discover and destroy. Although, some maps have some nice little hiding spots. IF you can get to them.

Its slightly odd when you see idle threats of people saying they will leave the game forever because it will become simply screwed up by an item like teleporters.
Its not the best mechanic for capture the flag, but it aids slower classes a lot in dustbowl style maps. (Where the capture point is over 2-3 rooms away.) |

I remembere the tele's in Quake TF. It got out of hand. There would be an entrance and exit and the flag spawn as well as the cap point. You walk in, grab flag, tele out, cap, repeat. Got old fast. However, I do like having them for AvD. Helps get up further when your spawn is so far away as in TF2. But, whatever.
/thread Oh yeah, the comic was awesome!! |

Either way, tele's can be good for CP, but honestly, they make a mess of CTF |
