[Source SKD] Hammer Won't Open
Hi everyone, I tryed to search for an answer here and google, but I couldn't find anything usefull.
My problem is, that I want to start mapping for source, I have ideas already, but I cant open Hammer Editor. Actually, I can't even open Source SDK Panel. It just won't open. Starts loading and then nothing happens. I was told to find through google but I've been there for a long time now and I didn't find anyone with the same problem. Any suggestions? Thanks people. PD: Plus I have this irritating problem, that many many threads of this forum won't open. My isp is fucked up. so sorry if this is a repost. Last edited by DarK_TaO; 02-21-2008 at 02:52 PM. |

I had the same problem before the recent SDK update, (which isp out of curiosity?).
Failing that remove local files from the same rightclick menu and try that but other than that cant think of anything else you could do. Verify the local files perhaps? |

A better thing to do might be try out the beta SDK
To launch the Beta SDK: 1. Close Steam 2, Right click on your desktop and choose New>Shortcut 3. Click Browse and navigate to your steam installation directory (typically C:\Program Files\Steam) 4. Choose the second, capitalized, Steam listing. (You will see steam and Steam. steam is an icon, Steam is the exe) 5. Click Ok, Next, and Finish 6. Right click on the new shortcut and choose "properties" 7. In the "Target" field type -beta srcsdk0122 AFTER the quotes. 8. Restart Steam and the Source SDK will update. Make sure to use the Episode 1 engine for FF. |

I had this same problem and you fixed it. So I'd like to first say FUCK YOU for not fixing it before because you're supposed to fix all my problems for me. And you wouldn't believe how frustrating it was to have no solutions. I've already made 2 maps and now steam was going to say I wasn't going to make anymore. FUCK YOU STEAM!
Can I even say that here or will I be censored? Anyways I'm done, but I mainly wanted to say Thank You cause I like mapping and I'm not good with the tech side, so I thought I was screwed when it failed to load. Maybe I'll make a 3rd map for FF. |

Also that's just me, you could potentially still be censored by another mod.
