FF and TF2 crossover. What would happen? Who would win? What rules?

Post whatever you think here. This was already half discussed here but I think it deserves it's own thread. So what do you think would happen? What team would win and why?

And please don't let this turn into a argument between which game is better. This is not for that. Go to the other 50 threads arguing for that. Also, mods if you think this thread is a stupid idea and feel like ruining my fun lock if you must :P.

It's simple really...TF2 SGs are weak...they have no substantial push like the SGs of FF. Those arguing for TF2 might say that you could simply uber a solly/demo/pyro/hwguy...anything...but good luck getting within 10 feet of the FF SG without being shot across the map.

Grenades and Speed outweigh the advantages of the TF2 classes...no amount of crit rockets or uber'd heavies can beat a concing/bhoping scout or medic. The only real advantage TF2 has over an FF defense would be the spy class...though I don't know how the spy would go from a TF2 model and disguise as an FF model...

As for the map, I wouldn't mind playing it on cp_warpath...It's open enough to still allow conc jumping, but it's a TF2 map, designed for TF2 gameplay...would be pretty even.

Well in TF2, if you're uber'd, you can't capture points. I don't know about picking up the flags/intelligences as I've not tried that yet. Basically with an uber, all you can do is go on a killing spree, and that's about it. Not useful on capping, but maybe defending.

I really don't like how slow the classes are on TF2. Often times I find myself trying to bunny hop to pick up a little speed, or trying to trimp with the Pyro. Don't get me wrong, I love playing both games, and find TF2 amusing simply because of how the game is designed and the taunts and such.

Whatever. If it were a fight between the two games and the teams were filled with good players from each game, it could be a good long fight, unless they manage to figure out the others weak spots quickly and then it's just a mad rush to kill everyone and get it over with. I can see a lot of OvsO from the TF2 guys though, even though I'm guilty of it in FF as well.

If it were set to more of a FF scrim/match where offense doesn't fight with offense, it could be a different story. However, as it was said with the bunny hopping and concing of the FF players, TF2 guys would have a hard time dishing out a good defense if they've never played the original TF games. *shrug*

TF2 SGs have a lot more push than FF ones. You jump even once while being shot and you're pushed halfway across the level.

Right, but you can walk right up to them while uber'd and you don't get pushed backwards as long as you're holding forward down. I think the range of the FF SG and the tracking helps balance it in comparison. I'm not sure but I think the FF SG has a higher rate of fire too...but I'm not really sure. The TF2 classes move so slow that they couldn't circle strafe an FF SG, nor would they be able to take them down as easily.

TF2 airpush > FF air push
FF ground push > TF2 ground push

Mirvs/EMPs on a TF2 SG=pwnage.

Couldn't this be set up in Garry's Mod?

I think concs would be one of FF's strongest weapons against TF2.

If the match was played on an FF map, the TF2'ers would move too slow to make any real caps while our standard O moves at light speed compared to them. Could you imagine them trying to cross aardvark yard?

If it was played on a TF2 map, how many people you figure (other than oldschool TFC vets) practice conc aim?

Our nades (or emps in particular) would dominate. Those classes move soo slow people wouldn't be able to escape from the blasts, and I'm sure SG positions that are strong in TF2 are setup without the thought of emps in mind killing through walls floors and ceilings.

If it was a command point style map in TF2 they might do better since FF classes aren't really well designed to defend outside our base and TF2 seems to be geared towards that. But again the nades come into play we may not be designed for defense outside the base, but we're the pinnacle of offensive destruction with emps and mirvs, and when we die we don't have to wait on a respawn timer, so our demo men could have a hayday mirving the shit out of people.

No, not really. I don't think a crit would do shit when I can conc and b-hop around em...

I'd love to see what they would do against infection. And a shotgun to the face, of course.

I think the point about circle strafing is a good one.. a FF medic with grens and strafing speed + nailgun would pwn anything. So, yeah.

Ok, i had actually decided to not participate in this thread

There's a good point...not to mention the FF Medic heals you up to 100% instantly and doesn't have to follow you around with a hose up your butt.

As for the comment, that in TF2, he's a real Medic....actually he's supposed to be a Combat Medic....he always has been.

TF2 Combat Medic = Fail

This is assuming the FF side has at least 9 people online to fill out its roster.
