They were included, elwood took the best 2 players, like he did for all the teams, took the top lvl players, to make an allstar team...its just 1 or 2people that got there butt hurt cause they were not invited to join

I will make sure the US server will be eastern location for you all. Either NYC or Atlanta most likely-which are both east coast.

I was hoping to do a total of 2 different maps with only playing 1 map round per server (so 1 map/round on EU server and 1 map/round on US). The timelimit either 20-30min, but if we're doing just 2 rounds i'd rather do full 30min on each map for fairness.

Personally i have been real busy with work and haven't been able to be online in the evenings for about a week now I was planning to play this for this weekend, but just haven't been around to finalize the 1-2 spots needed for the US team. So people, quit bitching, because the US roster is not finalized. Therefore, the US map selection hasn't been picked yet due to roster finalization. I spoke with glass about a week ago and he said EU was thinking about playing a round of ff_monkey. Personally, i think that would be a fine map choice for us too so we could plan for at least a round of that.

Hopefully i should have some time this weekend to finish the US roster/map choice. I will contact glass when that happens. Would we want to postpone this matchup after the holidays/1st? I know i will be traveling 13 hours away to see my family for a week. Something to think about.

<edit> I am sure there will be a SourceTV/HLTV for spectators available and was hoping that this could become a once a month fixture between the two teams.

so is there any chance of playing eu v usa round 1 this weekend? we can always play again after new year, and then again and again after that if we want! i'd just like to see this fixture(/rivalry!) actually get off the ground, even if it means each team not having all their "best" players available, as getting the ball rolling should get ppl interested and hopefully kick-start the euro/usa teams and also give high level players something new to aim at and look forward to.

i see this match as hopefully a start of something, not just a one-off end product, so we should jump on in and get it going as best we can - oh, and sod our pride

elwood: are you saying you don't want to play the full 4 rounds i was suggesting (map1/server1, map2/server1, map1/server2, map2/server2)? if 4 rounds sounds like too much then sure we could either just play each map once (map1/server1, map2/server2), or alternatively if we all agree on a map we could just play one map on both servers (map1/server1, map1/server2). so if ppl don't want to do the full 4 rounds, seeing as it looks like we can probably agree on a map choice, this last way would be simplest and fairest (just play monkey twice, 30 mins on each server). then when we play in the future we just agree on a single map each time. simple and fair. what you think?

Four rounds/2 diff maps would be gnarly, but time and time zone wise i don't know how possible that will be for everyone. Because 2:00/3:00pm our time is like 8/9pm your time. We could start early afternoon for the NA side to make it doable. I understand picking 1 map would be the simplest and fairest way to do it, but i guess we will all have to come to an agreement when the time comes. I think this thing will have to launch after the 1st/holidays. I really want to be organized and have a solid matchup so i personally don't want to rush anything. this will be fun when it arrives no doubt

First of all, this isn't very classy. Secondly, you beat me on openfire as a scout vs a soldier by 2 caps. You should take a few steps back and rethink about what you are posting or saying. Besides, nobody has tried out yet because we have not held tryouts. Be patient and be there when the tryouts are scheduled.

If you know you're better than someone in the roster, great, I'm sure no one cares. Most people know who are the top players, so it doesn't really matter how the U.S. team was organized. Blah blah. This is just a little scrim they're having, nothing more. It's much better to have a team with people that get along to allow communication to flow smoothly. Who wants to hear people bitching at someone because "x" didn't go as planned? I'm sure no one wants a fight among the U.S. team during the scrim. Teams are formed for those that share similar values and have some decent skills at this game.

as for picking continental squads/teams, it's always going to be tricky and some ppl will bitch that the guys in charge are retards and are picking all the wrong players etc etc. if you think they've got it wrong then just message the ppl in charge with your opinions giving clear reasoning. be constructive not retarded.
