Whilst we run a friendly and welcoming board we dont tolerate persistent flaming and goading. You have been advised what to do and I have already requested this thread get back on topic.
If you cannot comply you will be removed. |

That picture gave me the image of the Burning Monk photo, with ERROR plastered across the monk aflame.
I don't want to laugh at such twisted humour, but it is the funniest thing which I have thought of all day. |

If you find that offensive, I think you have something wrong with you.

IBE (in before error) ........
I have to agree tbh that I'm well interested in the coding part. The nuts and bolts that actually run these mods are so often forgotten behind the great visuals and other "media" elements. |

Exactly I still think Return to Castle Wolfenstein has the sexiest flamethrower effect to date.
And it's still all made out of a lot of animated sprites in succession. Shouldn't be to hard to accomplish something like that in source, would it? Wolfenstein flamethrower screenshot |

Yeah I've played RTCW, I'd love to have the flamethrower look as cool as that. If there's a good way to do something like that without saturating the network traffic with sprites then that would be ideal!

Yeah that's true, don't know how big a toll sprites take on network performance. But if it could be done then *wookie*
