They're still working on this? Are there people who still actually care enough to play it?

Its really damned fun, main drawbacks were some funky hit detection, very bad choke points in the maps and there being only 3 maps. It ran great and looked even better.

it's pretty ironic...awhile back there was some infighting between the ff and dys fourm peoples (not the devs at all) about the release early and often approach (dystopia) vs release when it's completely done (ff).
when it's all said and done, the release times are going to be pretty close (that is, if everything is still on track with ff). |

Anyway Dys is influenced by many games but mostly by quake and team fortress,it is often compared to Ns because of cyberspace , wich infact is nothing like NS`s commander. Cyberspace is a map within the map where you fight for control over security systems ,fast paced gameplay , rocketjumps ,gravity switching pads, etc. Also you dont earn or buy any abilities or weapons.... that thread is a great read and was infact started by an ff dev journal taking a shot at dystopia. but we are all friends and many dystopia players are hanging out for ff. last I heard ff was still a good few months away from release. |

Release strategy is retarded, take COUNTERSTRIKE FOR EXAMPLE. They released in like pre beta fashion. TFC released in nearly full functionality. Look at the amount of servers there are for 1.6, source, and TFC. Counterstrike is bad IMO, but millions think otherwise. Dystopia had around 2 active servers when I last checked a week or two ago. All this pussyfooting around a release scheme doesn't make a game good or bad. The game makes itself good or bad.
