FF_Concfortress

Hey. Been working a bit for myself now and decided it was time to flash my latest project. Its another CTF map that might differ a little. First thing first, been running some tests on it and as you might have figgured from those screenshoots, the map has very low fps basicly all over the crossfield. "+showbudget" suggests that the Dynamic Light is the main reason. Im not quite sure where to go from here, so if anyone has a great idea, dont be affraid to share it!

So atm you have to conc to base? Well for other classes you should add the jump/push ramp simmilar to aardvark

turn off dynamic lighting in the flags of the point_spotlights

I think the idea is to make it a more traditional style of game.

Might be hard to decrease the area at some spots. I've been cutting back alot already to make the base more narrow. But definitely a good idea.

My first thought was to create a mid area to land on, with ramps and teleport to each base. But i changed that idea, there are a few ramps around both bases, so that wont be a problem

Another idea maybe would be to add abit of security? Diff ways that open up/flag access when you get the sec, if not, fair dues, just throwin' a couple ideas out there to make it abit easier for def, by the looks of it :P

Great idea, i know this needs to be done so its just that i hate scripting lua files.. im gonna keep ignoring it untill it really needs to be done :P

I've updated with some screenshoots, choose the night theme after all the issues. And a thanks to BlisTer, might not have been much but it did the trick and solved my fps problem!

Nope, the portal is "in action" at that picture! It starts in a specific location facing you, and when you walk up to it you trigger it, that red light starts to ficker (blue lights in blue base), and those props start to rotate one at the time, after 3 seconds you get teleported to the rooftop, the props slows down and return to their original positions looks ACE!

It's a bit strange that the teleporter rings are mounted to a bare wall though. Take a look at the teleporters in FF_Flare, see if you can pick up an idea and maybe improve the total picture.

Thats true, even though the are not mounted to the wall, might give that impression. However, they are actually haning in bare air right now. And i agree that you could probably make it look even better with some detail work.

Im having a problem deciding weather to have a mid-area or not. Problem is, if i create this mid-area i fear that preople will spread out and the defence becomes too wealk. On the other hand, if there is a mid area, it might mean more action for the defence.

Edit: And oh, thanks for all great comments GhostBuster, sure inspire me to create!

At the moment the map is 90% finished. Whats left is basicly some tweaking, and a full compile. Im not sure how long it might take since I've been busy lately, but ill keep you posted. And i'll also put some extra effort into releasing it.
